Welcome to my website!

I live in south Louisiana with my beloved, our young-adult children, and dogs. Lots of dogs! My background is in elementary education and counseling, yet for twenty years, we homeschooled our four children.

For the past fifteen years, I have consulted with families, sharing my experiences and expertise. The vlogs and workshops grew out of my desire to share my knowledge with other families.

I have published three non-fiction books: Call Their Hearts Home, TWPH - Insights into Living with Teens, and Homeschool is an Action Verb. In 2016, I began writing fiction while facilitating a novel-writing class. Since 2018, I have published six novels, which have since grown into digital downloads and audiobooks.

I tutor, author novels, consult, and develop content for my vlogs and workshops. Recently, I added Writing and Life Coaching Certifications to my resume. I had no idea that my “retirement” from homeschooling would lead me down these paths.

I met Kelda about five years ago when I had just started homeschooling both of my children. Not knowing what to expect, I went to ne of her seminars with a mutual friend. After that meeting, I scheduled a consultation with her for my children’s homeschool needs. Since that time, we have scheduled our yearly consultation. She has been a huge help with my son, especially with math. He struggled for quite a while grasping math, and there is something about Mrs. Kelda teaching style that makes it all click.

Kelda gives you a hug, tells you you are doing a great job, and reminds you that this too shall pass, all while encouraging and guiding you to love them as God loves us.

I loved reading Ms. Poynot’s novel, as her writing is mesmerizing. The attraction between Caroline and Hashim is almost palpable. The chapters alternate, first being told from Caroline’s viewpoint and then from Hashim’s perspective. Therefore, the reader is cognizant of their thoughts as well as their actions and immerses fully in the tale. This fast-paced, suspenseful story is foremost a romance novel, but it is additionally a mystery and a thriller. I found it very difficult to put down, and when forced to stop reading for some reason, I was quickly back to the book as soon as possible. All the pertinent questions are resolved by the ending.

Kelda’s characters are engaging, and the dialogue is fun to read. Her books will move you forward through the story and give space to grapple with issues like who we are and what is real as well as forgiveness, family, and community.

Quote from Kelda…

“Children are a gift. They are given to us. Some folks may even say they are sent to us.”
